Prizes worth about RM20,000 are up for grabs in the sixth annual MAH Charity Treasure Hunt slated for 2 April 2011. Organised by the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), the hunt, which is limited to 100 cars has an open category for the public and members of MAH.
This year’s treasure hunt marks another milestone for MAH as it is not like any other treasure hunt that MAH organises almost every year, but a special one where it is organised in aid of Rumah Amal Cheshire Selangor (RACS). It is to complement the Economic Empowering Program; a collaboration between MAH Training Education Centre (MAHTEC) which is MAH’s wholly owned subsidiary and RACS, to train young disabled persons in areas of bakery, ICT, handicraft, farming and office administration.
MAH Chief Executive Officer, Reginald Pereira said, “Critical thinking is required as the sport challenges the participant to think out of the box while at the same time enhancing teamwork in a fun situation. From a business perspective, there is no better way for our members to interact and strengthen the relationship with the public, which is a core client base of hotel members whilst contributing to the community for a noble cause at the same time”.
This year’s hunt will take participants on a journey to the serene, beautiful, seaside setting of the 4-star Bayview Beach Resort in Penang. This fun-filled event promises to be a great holiday weekend for participants as well as great prizes that include RM3,000, RM2,000 and RM1,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Lucky draw prizes which consist of Panasonic Plasma TVs are also up for grabs.
The entry fee per car is RM650 and RM700 for MAH members and non-members respectively inclusive of goodie bags worth RM300. The first 50 cars registered will receive additional exclusive gift worth RM100 for each participant.
The hunt is also supported by the Penang State Government, DiGi, Panasonic, Astro, Carlsberg, GBA and Nestle as the sponsors to name a few, while The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Bayview Beach Resort Penang as the venue sponsors. To be flagged off from The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur at 7.30 am, the hunt is expected to end at about 4pm in Penang, where participants will be hosted to a sumptuous dinner and winners will receive their prizes. Penang State Exco for Tourism, YB Danny Law Heng Kiang will also be present.
Details and entry form are available from MAH Projects & Events Executive Tun Zahini (03-4251 8477) at the association’s premises at C-5-3, Wisma MAH, Jalan Ampang Utama 1/1, One Ampang Avenue, 68000 Ampang, Selangor or its website at www.hotels.org.my. Closing date is on 24 April 2011.
